Let me tell you it was well worth the drive and I would have driven 18 hours to have a day like we had.
The traffic was very light and I had my beautiful wife to keep me company, great tunes on the CD player, although my singings was critized more than once, we had a very pleasant drive.
Once we arrive at the Ritz a phone call was made and Lo and be hold we both arrived at exit 75 at the same time.
The first time I have laid eyes on my grandson, he is so beautiful. My grand daughter has grown into such a lady that I almost did not reconize her.
I was so pleased that my grand son ACE took to me right away and let me hold him, I was in heaven. But lets skip all the mushy stuff and go to check in.
They messed up our rooms and had us down for the next day to check in instead of today. Well we got that corrected and carried all the stuff to the rooms. For the price of the rooms, we all expected more, but never the less we were not there to see the rooms, we were there to see the kids and that we did.
You will all have to check out OGO's blog because I know she will have some great stories to tell.
I took the grand daughter in to the pool and we played and played and played. I had flash backs of when her mom and I played in the pool many years ago. And for those who know me, it happened again. It seems that I have an allergy of some kind to water, each time I get into a pool or a large body of water, I break a toe, I was not let down. The toe next to my big toe took the hit this time and now looks like a big black berry stuck on then end of my foot. I did not let this slow me down how ever, I still had plenty of time to spend with the kids and I was not going to let this throbing ball on the end of my toe put a damper on the party.
We all made fun of the hotel we were at and we all had plenty of laughs, but I enjoyed every minute of our visit and look forward to the next one.
I will post a couple of pics of where we were staying and you will see it was not as bad as OGO might make it sound, although she does point out a few minor problems we encountered.
The NaNa and I had such a great time that we have decided that we are going to take other short trips and spend some much needed time alone together and see some sites.
A special Thanks to OGO and CCboy for the plans and the visit, we look forward to your blog and your pics.
Love you all and again thanks.
P.S. Well I went to the Lake today and took my camera and fishing poles. I had a great time although the wind was blowing pretty hard, I still had a great time.
I caught two fish and a tirtlet, (very very small turtle).
I got some great photos which I will post a couple of them so you can see where I was at, it was so beautiful there. I wished MaMa Eagle was there with me, but she stayed at home and mowed the yard.
I had an old man (older than me) show up and started a conversation with me, which quickly lead to a story about his boat flipping over in the lake and he lost everything except one fishing pole. The story was repeated three times with in a 30 minute time span and each time the details changed. Although I heard the story before, I smiled and acted surprised each time.
The wind and the stories became to much for me to handle, so I packed up and came home to spend some time with my lady.
I had a very nice visit with my son and his wife yesterday and we had dicussed taking photos during this visit. Having this in mind when I went to the lake, I took some landscape pictures that I hope my son finds interesting. As you all know I normally take pics of wildlife and flowers, but for my son I took some of the landscape around the area where I was fishing. The Key to this little test is that you answer quickly, do not sit and ponder or think to
much about it. I want to know what your immediate response is.
I won't be judgemental to your answers ( heaven knows my responses were nothing to brag about) I'll share my responses later.
So with your permission here it is.

1) You just purchased something and you're waiting for your change. The cashier gives you to much change. Do you return the money or quickly put it in your pocket and leave (the amount isn't important).
1a) Is your reaction any different if you know the cashier casually and like them, or is the result the same as if you don't know them.
2) You are in public and you see someone accidently drop some cash out of a pocket or purse. Do you get their attention and tell them or do you quietly wait for them to leave so that you can claim it as yours?
2a) Would your response be any different if it was a young child or an elderly person?
3) Would your reaction be the same in all these examples if the person left personal items instead of cash (such as jewelry, keys, gloves, cell phone or whatever).
3a) Would your reaction be different if the dropped item is something you want for yourself.
Thats all for now. I'll give you the answers Eagle Man and I had later.
I have more questions but I think I'll wait and see the results of these before I post more. Why can't it be both?
I know from talking with MaMa Eagle that she considers herself a positive person and tries to be happy and uplifting, does this mean she never has a bad day? (I don't think so)
Remember I live with her and I see both sides, the only different with putting this on a Blog site and living with it, is that she does not have to listen to other peoples comments. So if you want to brood and have a serious post, expect what you get. If you want to share your joy with everyone, put it on your post and again, expect what you get. If you don't want others opinions and true feelings, tell them at the begining of your post, comments and opinions NOT welcomed.
MaMa Eagle is sitting here with me as I am typing, and she said I don't know where your going with this baby, my response was I don't know I am just rambling.. Well let me tell you, I wished I would have been doped up for the left eye also.
After telling the Dr. that I still had feeling in my eye, he told me well we will take care of that and proceeded to poke another needle in my eye ball. My reaction to the shap metal object being plunged in to one of the most sensitive parts of the human body, I jerked just a little and me did not quite get all of the medication in my eye ball, so there for he had to load up another one and jab me again.
Seconds later I could see the flap covering my eye fold back to reveal these beautiful colors from the 60's. Then I heard this noise that could only be compared to the drill of a dentist.
This drill had a little sander on it and he began sanding the cateract off my eye ball. I could feel the pressure on my eye from him pushing down on the sander.
Now day two, the day after surgery, the three eye drops given to me to be put in my eyes four times a day, feels like acid being droped in to an open wound. It feels as if each drop that hits the target is like another needle going in and then for about 30 seconds after that, I feel like I have a peice of dirt in my eye. The Doc told me that this should stop in a couple of days and I hope he is right.
I did get my eye tested today and I am reading 20X20 in my left eye the day after surgery and 20X15 in my right eye 6 weeks after surgery..... I know this may not interst you all, and some may not understand, but I have to let it go.
Today I finished my store inventory, that is not the problem, I normally get 3-4 months notice when I am going to inventory, this time I was notified 2 weeks ahead on a confrence call that I would be doing a full store inventory on the 22nd. This is all well and fine, but when you have your DM (royal Pain in the ass) show up at the store the day before Inventory and proceed to stick his nose in every tote and box in my back room and ask me stupid ass questions like what is this, (duh, it's candy) and then ask if I went through it to check for out of dates. DUUUUH!!!!
After three or four times of calling me away from my counting, to repeate such stupid questions, I had all I could stand. I told him if he wanted to look in every box in this back room, go ahead, just leave me alone, I don't have time to mess with you today, I have to much work to do and I don't have time for these dumb questions. I then truned my back and walked away, waiting for a response. The next sound I heard was a hundred and eighty-five pound man, stomp up a set of metal stairs to his office (oh yea did I forget to mention my DM has his office in my back room) and then I heard his door slam very hard and he did not come out the rest of the day. I hope I have a job after inventory is over.
For those who do understand and are interested, my inventory came out great and I lost $30,000.00 less than what was expected. I won't have the final numbers for about six weeks, but I am sure it will be under goal.
Thanks for letting me get it out..... I just about tipped over the six pack as she was falling away from her cart. ( I did say excuse me as I stepped over her, my mom did teach me to be polite.)
I did take out a display during the same shopping trip, some powerful force from upstairs behind the smoked glass instructed one of his hard working peons to build a display of cheese it crackers down what they call the power isle. There is nothing wrong with the power isle as long as they grease the damn wheels.... By the way I did not buy any of the crackers, they were probally all broken up from the way that stack fell and when the cart got away from me and ran over half of them and backed up and hit them again, I wouldn't buy them.
Has any one else wondered why these places can't spend a little to keep these things in shape?
I had one that left a 3.75" gouge in my arm from one of the wires that had some how come loose from the great welding job and was sticking out just far enough to gather some of my DNA.
The cart was pobally damaged by the high school punks that make $5.00 an hour while they are talking to their girl freinds on their cell phones as they are pushing 25 carts at one time up the isle as cars are backing out or looking for a parking place that seem to vanish once they make their 12th lap around the lot. The cart jockies probally ran in to the blue haired lady's car as she was backing out and them slammed in to the back of the van with that kid and his mother who was too busy trying to open the toy while she was backing out, and that is why I can never get a damn cart worth a darn when I go shopping.
I think I just carry what I need and If I can't carry it all, Oh well they just lost a sale, (until I have to come back and get the rest of it, cause It does not matter how bad of shape the carts are in you want to keep MaMa Eagle Happy.

But I tend to anger quickly at the smaller things in life.

Under the shade tree he lives.

Kids and Tears

There is an old saying, When you have children they'll break your heart, and when they grow up they'll stomp all over it. As you know we have had alot of child related drama trama going on lately and it's made me think about my three children.
I was blessed with three wonderful children, each one touches my heart in a different way.
And sometimes at night while my husband is asleep I walk around this dark house and think about them all. I think about the good the bad the ugly and the beautiful aspects of my children.
Sometimes I want to spank them like when they were little and sometimes I want to pull them on to my lap and comfort them to make them feel better. And they may get angry at me sometimes, but I know they love me. When I listen to OGO's precious silly messages on my answering machine, when I watch tiny Blips all puffed up and indignant at someone who has hurt or offended someone she loves and when my big strong marine son bends over and hugs me so gently as if I was made of glass and he is afraid he'll break me, I thank God for my witty, sensitive, loving children.
I have shed tears for all three of my children and the hurts and fears and challenges as they have grown up, I lost sleep, got grey hair, and lines on my face from worring about them.
But I have also shed tears of pure joy, love, and pride in the people they have become.
And even though you're grown up now, know that if I verbally box your ears from time to time it's only because I care so deeply about you.
Love MaMa Eagle

<img border='0' style='border:2px solid #000000; I know that sounds pretty boring for a lot of you, but that is my way of relaxing. Some people read, watch Tv, play vedio games, take longs walks in the park, or what ever. My way of relaxing not only lets me enjoy mother nature, but it gives me time to think about alot of things.
Some times that can be scary! I have thought about what I would be thought of after I am gone. That was a very sad result. I know most people could think up at least one nice thing to say about me when I am gone, but then I started of thinking of the other side of what people would think, but maybe not say out loud.
Yes I have many material thinks to pass down to my loved ones, but that is not all I want to be remembered for. I guess I have alot of regrets, and it took me may years to find this out. I hope you all don't make the same mistakes I have and I know what I would say about my loved ones.......
Back to the bird watching, I showed MaMa Eagle some of the pics I took and she said that some of them looked like they came straight out of the NABS book of birds.
I can't remember how to post the pics on my blog right now or I would give you a couple of samples.
Well it is dinner time and I know my private cook is going to make me happy and she is going to hurt me again tonight.
Love Ya Allllll
TEM

Where life goes some should not tread.

Sorry in Hash coma for three days!

Hey guys and gals, I had computer problems, had a power surge during a storm I thought was already gone. When I say all gone I mean just that, If my cook leaves any in the pan on the stove, I try (try) to finish what is left. ( You can't let food like this go in the trash.)
I am sorry to say, but happy at the same time to report that shortly after the meal is complete, I slip in to Hash accoma, and remain there until time for bed.
I wish to Thank My Cook in advance and wish her a good night.......
Love to My Private Cook......

Hash Dinner tonight!!!!!!!!

Hello from Picasa what a great Program

Hey guys and gals, I just spent some time on line with OGO and we was swaping pics through hello and I love it. I got some great pictures of my grand children and I can't belive how beautiful they are.......
I wished every one was on this so we could all chat at one time and share more pics.
I figured out how to take the still pictures and create a movie with different transitions and then lay a music track over it, save it as a mpeg file and create a dvd that can be played on our DVD player. This way we can see all of our pictures on the Tv and listen to the music on the surround sound. It is great, although it takes a long time to create the movie, it is well worth it. The only bad thing is we had to buy a new DVD player that played mpeg files, a regular DVD player will play jpeg files and Kodak picture files but will not play the movies.
I am going to put one together for OGO after I receive more pics.
If any one else has pics to send I would love them so I could create more movies.

Where the real ones stand alone........

The Eagle Man
Posted by The Eagle Man

Tip from MaMa Eagle

To all you Hubbies out there.
Just want to give you a little tip for those rare occasions (ya right) that you have to pass gas.
When you rip one that would make a hippo jump don't point at a miniture Pom and try to blame it on the dog. ( What's up with that people.)

Have you ever noticed the older we get the smaller the steps we take. When I hit 60 it will take me a full 8 hours to make it to the bathroom in the morning. I hope I have a strong bladder when I am 60.

Have you ever noticed when you are at a gathering with a large group of people that the one that is the loudest and most obnoixous are the people that should be hiding in the corner. The last one I saw looked like they came straight out of the hills in West Virginia and still had on her brothers shirt with stains that I really do not want to identify.

Have you ever noticed that when old people go to a store to shop, they end up having some one else do the shopping for them. Like can you show me where this is, you take them to it and then well while your here can you help me find this and then they pull out a list and all you can do is smile, because you know some day you WILL be there also.......

Have you ever noticed when a neighbor is getting something new delivered to their house or having work done by a contractor, all the other neighbors seem to have work that needs to be done in their front yard that has not been touched in months......
I call out contractors to my house on an as needed basis... When my neighbors yards get out of control, I call out a contractor to give me a price on something I never plan on having done, but it gets all the neighbors out in their front yards and some of the trash gets moved around so it doesn't blow in to my yard.
Don't take me wrong, my yard needs lots of attention as well, but I do not have my bath tub, an old couch and every old toy that my kids have out grown in my front yard holding down the bags of trash that would not fit in the back of the station wagon parked in my car port.

Well I have been told by my better half that for some reason I have focused on Old people to much, so here is for the young whipper snappers out there.

Have you ever noticed that the young uns out there these days have no respect for the OLD people. If they are in the middle of the road playing and a OLD person is driving down the road, maybe not seeing real well, they just stand there a dare you to hit them, (knowing their mom and dad will sue the hell out of you). They also don't know that these OLD people can't really see them well enough to hit them, and if they did it would be by accident.
I did find out that the young whipper snappers now a days are just a bunch of chickens when it comes to OLD people. I had a group of the punks in the middle of the road when I was coming home from work and they dared me to hit them and they just stared at me as they moved about 6.18 inches to the left. I stopped my Z71 jerked off my seat belt and flung the door open so hard it bounced back and hit me and knocked me back into the truck and half way over to the passengers side. I did not let that slow me down. I just opened the passenger door and got out and yelled at them to get the hell out of the road.... When I stopped and looked around I could not belive it. When I stopped the truck, all the young uns took off and ran into their houses so I was yelling at a little brown matted hines 57 mut licking some spilled apple sauce one of the kids dumped.. But at least no one saw my graceful exit from the truck.

Well enough of that I will catch you all later.
The Eagle Man

If it is there Kick it........

You Know Your Getting Old When:

You know your getting old when the doctors, police persons, and even the kids driving cars all start looking like Doogie Houser.
You know your getting old when you can get down on the floor real easy, and it takes 10 minutes and help from loved ones to get you back up.
You know your getting old when you start paying attention to commericals on TV for various products..............
You know your getting old when you can't remember if you took that pill right before you go to bed or not and you take another juuuuusssttttt to make sure, and you sleep better and longer that you ever have.
You know your getting old when your spouse tells you to take off the stupid socks when your not wearing any......
You know your getting old when you have to carry around a note book with you every where to make notes to remind you to write something down in your big note book at home......

Laugh you all, it is coming faster than you think...... type='text'>eye surgery

Well You wanted an update so here it is....

Had eye surgery on monday the 21st at 8:30am, on Monday the 21st at 6:30pm I was reading with out my glasses on..... I can see colors that I have not seen since I was 10 years old.....
My right eye is still not 100% in focus, but I can see so much more....
I am ready for the surgery on the left eye as soon as they will let me, hopefully next month....
I had two shots in my right eye and two shots of morphine before the surgery and I think that was the worst part of all....
You know about my thing with needles, well think about two of them in your eye.......
I did not realize how bad my left eye had gotten until I got my right one done and now I know that I should have not been doing alot of the things that I had been doing, like driving... I knew I had problems reading the road signs and seeing some other things, but now I thank GOD for keeping me safe and all the other people on the road safe from me.........
So many people don't worry about there eyes and if they are going bad or not and I used to, but never again... I will wear protective eye gear when I am doing yard work or anything that there is a chance that something might get in my eyes....
For those of you who do not wear glasses or do not have problems with your eye sight, stop reading now and thank God......
I would recommend this surgery to any one that is having problems with your eye sight... Make an appointment and get them checked out now.....
Well there is my up date, hope I did not put you all to sleep.
Now that I can see colors, I am going to go take some pictures of flowers, birds, mom and any other beautiful thinks I see.....
Love you all
The Eagle Man..........

Tell Me What You Think

This post was made by me due to my son's comments on his blog spot.
My son has posted for every one to read, his version of how his childhood was and how he had to do without. My son also said that his family does not do holidays. I have sent comments to his post and he has deleted them. Is this because he does not want his friends to know what he is telling them is the the total truth, or is it maybe because he is mad that someone is calling him on his stories.
My son gave me his blogspot site and told me to check it out, then when I do and I reply to it, he covers them up so nobody else can read them.
I have spoken with the rest of the family about his comments to see if maybe I was the one that has forgot what really happened, and guess what, my mind is still as sharp as ever.
Both of his sisters that grew up in the same house seems to remember things totally different.
One of his sisters wanted me to post pictures of some of the holidays that we all celeberated and I chose not to, because I don't want everyone to see my family during private times.
My son was not always like this, once he left home and went to the marines, he started changing, and that is what he is trying to blame all these changes on. Well I don't for one minute belive the marine corp. had anything to do with these changes. My daughter asked what changed him and we could not come up with the answer. My son never had these type feeling as he has on his post, where they came from only he could say, if he even knows......
I feel like he says these things to get pity from others and some times just to see how others will react. What ever the reason, when he drags his family in to his posts and tell everyone that we do not observe holidays, well it just makes me mad as hell. He is disrespecting his mother that has worked her fingers to the bone to make him a special birthday dinner and desert every year, always had a big Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, Easther egg hunts and Easter baskets every year, he has been taken to fireworks displays on the 4th of July, well you get my point. My son has lost so many feeling he used to have it has his family very concerned.
If any one would like to read some of the childish rants that my son has posted on the internet for anyone to read, here is his blogspot address......
shaneapple.blogspot.com
Let me know what you think.
A Father that is hurt by his son
Randy

When Can We Stop

When can we stop killing our selves, I have worked since I was seven years old on my dad's farm and working for other farmers in the area. I can be in a room with hundreds of people, and if she is not one of them, the pain begins.
I wrote her a quick little poem years and years ago and it still holds true.

THE WAY YOU ARE

If you were a Robot

You would be the ultimate invention

If your were a Dream

I would sleep to see you

If you were a Star

You would blind observers eyes

But your not a robot, dream nor star

Your just you and I Love you the way you are

I have had many people ask me how we have stayed together for so long, and I tell them the

truth,(most don't belive me).

We work hard at our marriage and have since the begining. We do the most dreaded thing that most men hate, COMMUNICATE.

My angel and I for the first 10 to 15 years would set up til one or two in the morning talking about the good old days and what we wanted to do in the future.

How could we do this you ask? Try this some night. Turn off the TV, turn down the lights, sit accross from each other and remember your first date together, discuss in detail what happened from start to finish. This will get things started and you will see what I am talking about.

We never go to bed mad at each other for any reason. If one or the other is upset about something, we do NOT discuss it right then, cool down for an hour or so, then discuss it.

Once you have said something in anger, you cannot take it back. This pain will last for ever.

I have thanked my wife after every meal for the last 26 years and it does not matter if she fixed me a sandwich or a steak dinner with all the trimmings, the kiss and thank her is heartfelt each time.

I tell my wife I love her everyday and tell her how beautiful she is. In return she tells me she Loves me.

I have many tips on what keeps a marriage alive, even though I do not have a degree or any professional training, I have something even better, 26 years of marriage...........

You may not belive in soul mates but I do because I found mine in a little mom and pops grocery store in a little town in Colorado.

From the first time I laid eyes on her, I knew we would get married and she would have my kids. She did one year later and we have the best kids in the world. Now we have three grand kids to carry on the name.

You see, I did not marry my childhood sweetheart, or the head cheerleader at my school, I was sent and Angel from heaven to take care of me, and she has.

Dedicated to My Wife and Angel Linda

Love does hurt once in a while, but the in between is heaven.....

Have you ever Loved so much it hurt?

It's Not My Fault

I am just the Manager, I don't set the prices and select which itmes I carry in my store.
How do people get the idea that it is my fault that I don't have the tuti-fruti flavor ice cream topping that my competor carries all the time.
How is it my fault that just because you found that same item in another store, that I have to give it to you for the same price.
Look people, I just run the place and put what I have on the shelves. You get blamed for being out of stock on an item that you have no control over. You have people get in your face because they misread an ad and thought it said "I GET THIS FREE".
Come on people, cut us some slack.....PLEASE think when you go in to a retail store of any kind, we are there to help you true, but we are not there to be your door mats or for you to take your bad day out on.

The Manager
